November 7, 2009

iPhone developer Brian Stormont pinged us this morning to share the news that Apple has quietly updated iTunes Connect with a great new feature: Status History. Appearing near recently reviewed items, this option opens a detail table showing how your application has worked its way through the App Store review process, and on to the shelf. Stormont details this update on his site.
This option does not, at this time, appear to be universallySource: The Unofficial Apple Weblog RSS Feed

Larry has a lame-ass aluminum car and he thinks he’s so cool

November 7, 2009

And now, for only $4,500, you can buy a limited-edition book that tells the story of how they built Larry’s super-dooper special rich guy race car entirely out of aluminum. The book itself sports an aluminum cover. Groan.
From the book’s introduction:
Later, in the spring of 2006, Larry called. He was determined to commission a unique car but didn’t quite know what he wanted. The conversation drifted: Chopin Polonaises, Mountain Gorilla protection in Rwanda, sailing, theSource: The Secret Diary of Steve Jobs RSS Feed

TRAX STI replaces Subaru’s tires with treads, blasts through snow

November 5, 2009

If I had one of these things, I’d never get any work done. Unless I was a rally driver, in which case I’ll I’d be doing was work, work, work. Unfortunately (in this case at least) I’m just a blogger, so I don’t won’t be getting paid for zooming around the mountains in a cross between a tricked-out Subaru and a snowtank. Yes, I know there’s no such thing as a snowtank, but you know what I’m talking about.

This beast isn’t exactly unprecedented (they need Source: CrunchGear RSS Feed

Thank You, Google, For Firing Up the Smartphone Space

November 5, 2009

Dear Google Android People,

I would like to thank you for lighting a fire under the butt of smartphone makers by releasing Android into the mix. The smartphone world had been languishing for quite some time, unusual for such a young market. The major players prior to the launch of Android were Windows Mobile, BlackBerry, Symbian and the iPhone. Each of these platforms have its own strengths, but none of them were imaginative enough to catch the eyes of both consumers and industrySource: jkOnTheRun RSS Feed

A huge bear, as caught by my Logitech Wildlife home video surveillance system.

November 2, 2009

We purchased the Wildife surveillance system about 2 years ago for extra security at the house.  In terms of a system, if it works for you, it is one of the least expensive and difficult to install ways to get real time video surveillance both as a traditional DVR as well as Internet Access.

On Halloween, we got more than we bargained for!  Read On…
